A $50,000 warrant has been issued for a Carson City man suspected in a Saturday stabbing on Woodside Drive.

Police are looking for Michael Justin Gerard, 29, described as a white adult, 6 feet, 160 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.

Gerard is being sought in the 1:30 p.m. stabbing Saturday in the 3700 block of Woodside Drive of a 46-year-old Carson City man.

Police said they believe the men, who are acquaintances, were arguing when Gerard sliced the victim in the forearm. The wounded man was released from the hospital Tuesday after surgery to repair an artery.

Following the incident, Gerard allegedly called the Carson City Sheriff's Department and told them he was out of the area. He may be in Reno and has been known to ride in a friend's black pickup truck.

Anyone with information on Gerard's whereabouts is asked to call the Carson City Sheriff's Department Detective Division at 887-2020, ext. 1400.
