Obituary: Steven Charles Colbert

A memorial service for Steven Charles Colbert, 56, a Gardnerville resident for the past 17 years, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the First Christian Church in Carson City.

Mr. Colbert died Nov. 23, 2002, at his home. He was born Aug. 21, 1946, in Santa Monica, Calif., to Charles A. and Gene Ellen Bohn Colbert.

He attended Granada High School.

Before moving to Gardnerville, he lived in Southern California.

Mr. Colbert worked as a disc jockey for 12 years and was the commercial manager at Kragen Auto Parts. He was a longtime member of NASCAR and former president of the Carson Valley Cruisers. His hobby was classic cars; he enjoyed Elvis and the oldies and he was a former NASCAR driver.

He served in the U.S. Army for two years.

He was preceded in death by his mother in 1993 and his father in 1962.

Among his survivors are his wife Stephanie and daughter Jennifer, both of Gardnerville; stepson Kevin Taylor of Carson City; and sister Carol Colbert Bell of Gainesville, Texas.

Cremation will be at FitzHenry's Crematory.
