Longtime City resident Ralph Lee Westmoreland died Dec. 19, 2002 in Reno. He was born June 17, 1919 in Oklahoma to Edgar and Minta Blackstock Westmoreland. He was 83.
Mr. Westmoreland was a high school graduate, a retired police lieutenant and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He lived in Carson City since 1976.
In 1942 he married Frances L. Hoppe.
Among his survivors are his wife of Carson City; two sons Gary of Carson City and Jon of San Ramon, Calif.; a step-brother Ben Cope of Gardnerville; and a granddaughter Nicole Westmoreland of San Ramon.
No services will be held at his request.
Cremation will be under the direction of Walton's Sierra Crematory.
Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
