Obituary: Lonford Lee 'Lonnie' Dicus

Lonford Lee "Lonnie" Dicus, 72, a former Dayton resident, died June 29, 2002, at Kingman Regional Medical Center in Kingman, Ariz. He was born July 31, 1929, in Eldora, Ark.

He married LaVaughn Westbrook-Rupp on Dec. 31, 1967, in Dayton where he lived for more than 25 years. After living in Dayton and Beatty, he spent 12 years in Texas before moving to Kingman in 2001.

Mr. Dicus retired from Allied Van Lines/Bender Moving and Storage in Carson City and worked for the Lyon County School District. He owned and operated Dayton Lock and Saw Shop and the Route 66 Locksmith Shop in Vega, Texas.

He was preceded in death by stepsons Ronald Westbrook and Mark Rupp.

Among his survivors are his wife of 34 years LaVaughn; family Bill and Cherie Westbrook of Fort Mojave, Ariz., Rick and Paula Westbrook of Fallon, Toni (Westbrook) VanCleave and Mike White of Mound House, Caprise (Swenson) Rupp of Fernley, John and Kathy Rupp of Salt Lake City; daughter Dixie of California and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

At his request there will be no service.

Lake Havasu Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
