A great shot to have in your arsenal is the punch shot. This shot flies lower than normal and is effective in the wind, from difficult lies and when trying to keep the ball low for any reason.

Play this shot when you are looking for control and accuracy in any type of wind.

Play the ball farther back in the stance than for a normal shot, maybe an inch back from center.

Place more weight than normal on the front foot, about 60-40 percent.

Hands slightly ahead of club head.

Shorten the swing by keeping the wrists quiet.

As with all shots, maintain your balance.

This shot will fly a shorter distance than a normal shot. Club yourself accordingly.
