Obituary: Roy E. Dahna

A graveside service with military honors for Roy E. Dahna, 71, a Dayton resident for many years, will be at 11:30 a.m. today at the Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Fernley.

Mr. Dahna died Nov. 21, 2002, at home. He was born Aug. 15, 1931, in Logan County, Kan., to Frank and Minnie M. Eaton Dahna.

Before moving to Dayton, he lived in Bakersfield, Calif.

He was a manager for Dresser, Inc., Wireline Division, in California for 27 years. He enjoyed fishing, yardwork and gardening. He was a member of the American Legion Post 26 in Bakersfield for more than 25 years and a lifetime member of the American Petroleum Institute.

He was a Protestant.

He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.

He was preceded in death by his brothers Junior, Thomas, Elmer, Alfred and George.

Among his survivors are his wife, Nila L. of Dayton; daughters Thersa M. Zylstra of Dayton and Rhoena E. Neff of Bakersfield; and grandchildren Robert Savage of Dayton and Cole, Connor and Cade Neff of Bakersfield.
