George T. Poland, 93, a Carson City resident for the past 32 years, died March 31, 2003, at his home. He was born March 4, 1910, in Grover in Weld County, Colo., to Ernest and Barbara E. Davis Poland.
He married Velva Mae Fetters on April 26, 1938, in Weiser, Idaho.
Before moving to Carson City, he lived in Hermiston, Ore.
Mr. Poland was a Jehovah's Witness. He conducted Bible studies with prisoners.
Among his survivors are his wife, son Theron and daughter Rosemary Crowder, all of Carson City; daughter Velera Vega of Riverside, Calif.; brothers Albert of Payette, Idaho, and Leroy of Athol, Idaho; sister, Floy Cowgill of Bend, Ore.; and seven grandchildren.
No services will be held.
Cremation will be at FitzHenry's Crematory.
FitzHenry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
