Obituary: George T. Poland

Mr. Poland died March 31, 2003, at his home. He was born March 4, 1910, in Grover in Weld County, Colo., to Ernest and Barbara E. Davis Poland.

He married Velva Mae Fetters on April 26, 1938, in Weiser, Idaho.

Before moving to Carson City, he lived in Hermiston, Ore.

Mr. Poland was a Jehovah's Witness. He conducted Bible studies with prisoners.

Among his survivors are his wife, son Theron and daughter Rosemary Crowder, all of Carson City; daughter, Valera Vega of Riverside, Calif.; brothers Albert and Leroy Poland of Athol, Idaho; sister, Floy Cowgill of Bend, Ore.; grandchildren Heather Ferience, Jadd Crowder, Amber O'Brien, Lathe Poland, D'hanna Vega, Ty Crowder and Falon Vega; and two great-grandchildren.

Cremation will be at FitzHenry's Crematory.

FitzHenry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
