Services for John Kiriluk, 88, a Carson City resident for the past 27 years, will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Walton's Chapel of the Valley. The Carson Lodge No. 1 Free and Accepted Masons will officiate.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday at Walton's.
Mr. Kiriluk died April 5, 2003, at Carson-Tahoe Hospital. He was born Oct. 3, 1914, in Scranton, Pa., to Onisim Kiriluk and Cecelia Tarnowsky Kiriluk.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.
He married Allida P. Jacoboni. Prior to living in Carson City, he lived in Walnut Creek, Calif., for 40 years.
Mr. Kiriluk retired in 1978 from Pacific Telephone Co. after 40 years as an engineer. He helped place some of the first phone lines linking eastern and western Nevada during World War II.
He was a member of the Episcopal Church, Diablo Valley Lodge No. 448 F&A Masons in Concord, Calif., and Aahmes Shrine Patrol of Livermore, Calif.
Among his survivors are his wife, Allida (Lee) Kiriluk of Carson City; son, Michael Kiriluk of Carson City; daughter, Vicki Lee Blackburn of Fallon; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Entombment will be at Walton's Carson Gardens Mausoleum.
The family requests contributions be made to the Kerak Temple, 4935 Energy Way, Reno, for Shriners Children's Hospital in Sacramento, Calif.
Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
