Obituary: Samuel Dugan Albright

Longtime Smith Valley resident Samuel Dugan Albright died at his Wellington home April 9, 2003.

Mr. Albright was born in Merced, Calif., Oct. 22, 1933 to Dugan and Mina Harper Albright. He was 69.

Mr. Albright's family moved to Smith Valley in 1937. He is a 1951 graduate of Smith Valley High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and served during the Korean War.

He worked for the U.S. Forest Service for 13 years before returning to Smith Valley to farm and ranch.

Among his survivors are his wife of 47 years Cheryle of Wellington; sons Joel of Winnemucca and Samuel of Sparks; daughters Elaine Grosvenor of Smith Valley, Lou Ann Bennett of Holton City, Texas and Sandra Fogarty of Reno; and seven grandchildren.

No services will be held at his wish. Memorial donations in his name may be made to a charity of choice.

Freitas Rupracht Funeral Home in Yerington is in charge of arrangements.
