Merk Human to be honored tonight

Longtime Carson High baseball supporter Merrill R. "Merk" Human will be honored tonight during a doubleheader at Ron McNutt Field.

The second annual Merk Human Scholarship Night will be held during tonight's doubleheader between Carson and Scotts Valley of Santa Cruz, Calif. The games are scheduled for 5 and 7 p.m. The Carson and Scotts Valley junior varsity teams will play in a doubleheader, beginning at 2 p.m.

Proceeds from the gate and concessions tonight will go toward the Merk Human memorial scholarship fund that benefits players graduating from Carson. Human, a devoted Carson fan, died on Dec. 22, 2001.
