Obituary: Richard John Orgill

A funeral for Richard John Orgill, 65, a Gardnerville resident for the past five years, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Minden. A viewing will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the church.

Mr. Orgill died April 25, 2003, at Washoe Medical Center in Reno. He was born March 17, 1938, in Nephi, Utah, to John E. and Susie K. Nance Orgill.

He graduated from Juab County High School in Nephi.

Mr. Orgill lived in Manteca, Calif., from November 1993 to June 1998 and in Livermore, Calif., from 1963 until October 1993.

Mr. Orgill worked at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory for 33 years as a police officer and a technical coordinator for the security department. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

He was preceded in death by his son, Brian, on Feb. 23, 1984.

Among his survivors are his wife, Bonnie of Gardnerville; daughter, Vanesa Burnham of Murrieta, Calif.; stepson, Michael Baker of Rancho Cordova, Calif.; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

Burial will be at Eastside Memorial Park in Minden.

FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home in Gardnerville is in charge of arrangements.
