Edgar R. Johnson, 79, a Carson City resident for the past 48 years, died July 29, 2003, in Carson City. He was born Jan. 7, 1924, in Blackwell, Okla.

He graduated from Ventura High School in Ventura, Calif.

He married Helen J. Johnson on Aug. 17, 1955. She preceded him in death on Aug. 17, 2002, in Carson City, after 47 years of marriage.

Mr. Johnson was owner-operator of Wally's Hot Springs. After his retirement, he and his wife traveled the world.

He served in World War II in the 84th "Railsplitters" Infantry Division in Europe.

Among his survivors are his daughters and sons-in-law Susan R. and Carl Inglis of Ventura and Marilyn and Alan Wallace of Carson City; sister-in-law, Francis Sozanski of Carson City; and seven grandchildren.

Both his and his wife's ashes will be scattered over the Sierra on their wedding anniversary.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Hospice of Northern Nevada or to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
