A fund has been established for the couple left homeless when their Topaz Ranch Estates home burned Monday.

Friends of Loren Davis and Kim Proctor have established an account through the Bank of America, number 004966114612.

To donate items, contact family friend Robbie Thorson at 265-3293 or 782-8140.

"They have nothing, literally nothing," Thorson said.

Davis is size 2X and pants size 40. Proctor wears sizes 8 to 10.

The couple was left homeless when a 3 p.m. fire destroyed their home and killed a cat and a dog.

East Fork Fire District volunteers responded to the fire on Sandstone Drive with three engines and four water tenders.

Topaz Ranch Estates is 16 miles south of Gardnerville.

Drew said the cause of the blaze is under investigation.

Davis and Proctor are groundskeepers for the Douglas County School District.

Neighbors rescued the couple's black chow, Goofy. However, their white female mixed-breed dog retreated to its doghouse, where firefighters later found its remains.
