Obituary: Mayme P. Cooper

A funeral for Mayme P. Cooper, 84, a Carson City resident for the past 24 years, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Walton's Chapel of the Valley.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at Walton's.

Mrs. Cooper died Aug. 13, 2003, at her home. She was born April 13, 1919, in Malta Bend, Mo., to William M. and Ada Morris Nunn.

Before moving to Carson City, she lived in Reno.

Mrs. Cooper worked for Sierra Pacific Power Co. in Reno, retiring in 1974. She loved sports, especially bowling and tennis. She bowled on leagues in Reno, winning the Nevada State Doubles Competition one year.

Among her survivors are her husband of 34 years, Mel; daughter and son-in-law Linda and Donn Simons and stepdaughters Vyone Kipp and Denise Nielsen, all of Carson City; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Burial will be at Mountain View Cemetery in Reno.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
