Obituary: Jean Fierce FitzPatrick

A funeral for Jean Fierce FitzPatrick, 88, a Carson City resident for a year, will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the Mountain View Cemetery, 435 Stoker Ave., Reno.

Mrs. FitzPatrick died Aug. 18, 2003, at home. She was born July 4, 1915, in Minneapolis to Tarvald and Edith Esnough Amland.

She attended Long Beach College and the University of Nevada, Reno.

Before moving to Carson City, she lived in Reno for 20 years and in Grandview, Wash., for 27 years.

Mrs. FitzPatrick was a secretary at RKO Studios in Hollywood for several years. She was also an office manager. She was a Red Cross worker during World War II.

She was involved with the Grandview Rose Garden and a lifetime bridge player. She enjoyed rock collecting and traveled worldwide with Airstream caravans. She was a Presbyterian.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Roy Fierce April 15, 1984; and second husband, George FitzPatrick in December 2000.

Among her survivors are her daughter, Gayle Fierce Lynch of Carson City; sons Frank Fierce of Reno and John Fierce of Warren, Ark.; sister ,Gale Boldecchi of Incline Village; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
