Intake No. 2: A lot of nice fish this weekend. A 2.5 pound Alpers on a red/gold Kastmaster lure.

North Lake: Good reports coming out with Power Bait and worms. Some good action reported on Salmon eggs.

Sabrina Lake: Continues to do well. Trolling with nightcrawlers or Rapala lures did good. Power Bait in the back of the lake brought in lots of stringers.

South Lake: The top fish were a 5-pound, 13-ounce Alpers rainbow on a Trout Trap and a 4-pound, 5-ounce Alpers on a nightcrawler.

Bishop Creek: A pair of 2-pound, 3-ounce and a 1-pound, 15-ounce rainbow, all taken on nightcrawlers by one family.

Weir Pond: No report.

Backcountry: Reports of good fishing and nice weather. No mosquitoes.

BLUE LAKES, CALIF. AREA: Dave Kirby of the Woodfords Station (530-694-2930) said that the heavy rain today has closed down the road work. It has been raining hard for more than two hours (Tuesday at 10 a.m.), with lots of wind.

Expect travel delays due to the on-going road construction.

EAGLE LAKE, CALIF: Dave Meserve of the Eagle Lake Marina said, "Anglers experienced great fishing this past week.

Average sizes continue to vary between 2.5 and 3.5 pounds.

Saturday and Sunday produced many Eagle Lake trout exceeding 4 pounds with some coming in weighing up to 5.5 pounds.

The best action is coming from the Eagles Nest and Wildcat areas.

Many report success from mid-lake areas and from the open water near Merrill Campground.

Trolling at 20-330 feet using nightcrawlers, Rainbow Runners, Rapalas and Needlefish from downriggers or lead-line set-ups is working best.

Many are adding Dodgers or Wiggle Fins to enhance action."

FEATHER RIVER AT ORVILLE, CALIF: Kirk Portocarrero of Outdoor Adventures Sport Fishing in Redding (800-670-4448) reported: Water flow is 7,000 C.F.S.

King salmon fishing is good! Catching fish every day! 5-8 fish days. Average size salmon is 10-15 pounds with bright, chrome fish. Using T-50 and T-55 Flatfish lures.

FRENCHMAN RESERVOIR, CALIF: Wiggin's Trading Post at Chilcoot reported that generally the fishing has been pretty good.

Trolling seems to be especially good from the old boat ramp, through the narrows and up and around to Turkey Point. Troll deep with flashers and nightcrawlers.

Turkey Point has also produced some nice rainbows for those fishing from the bank. Cast deep and float worms off the bottom.

Summit Lake (above Indian Creek Reservoir): Three anglers reported fishing on Sunday afternoon. They got 6 fish (nothing big) on flies. They said the water is only about 5 feet deep.

STAMPEDE RESERVOIR, CALIF: Dick "Father" Murphy of Fishing with Father Murphy (888-852-2680) suggested that you troll the area from the boat ramp to the island and then west of the island.

Troll at a depth of 35-45'.

Use Lollipop or watermelon Murph's Kokanee Bugs. Tip the hook with a piece of white corn and scent the corn with either shrimp or anise oil.

LAKE TAHOE -- North Shore:

Mickey Daniels of Mickey's Big Mack Charters (800-877-1462) said: "We're still catching our Mackinaw trout very early in the morning. I've been tagging and releasing the smaller ones.

I troll 250-550 feet deep in the area in front of Carnelian Bay and King's Beach.

We are using silver, Herring Dodger flasher blades with live minnows or large Apex lures.

I had 7 fishermen on Monday morning. They kept six Macks that weighed 6-7 pounds. Those were nice fish.

Last Thursday, the weather started out nice but after two hours, I was soaking wet from the rain."

LAKE TAHOE -- North Shore:

Gene St. Denis of Tahoe Trophy Trout at South Lake Tahoe, Calif. (530-544-6552) reported, "Mackinaw fishing has been good, early in the morning.

They are stacked up and actively feeding near the bottom at 150-250'.

Last Thursday, I had Doug Busey of Gardnerville and his dad, Don, of Carson City.

The weather was windy and rainy.

They caught 4 and lost about 5 Macks.

Don's biggest fish was 27 inches and Doug's was 25 inches.

I've been trolling 130-220' deep, in a figure eight pattern, with large, silver, Herring Dodger flasher blades and live minnows.

My trolling areas are Cal-Neva Point, Carnelian Bay and Dollar Point."

LAKE TAHOE -- South Shore: The Kokanee salmon are at a depth of 80-100 feet in water that is over 400 feet deep.

LAKE TAHOE -- East Shore: Gene St. Denis said the Macks are running 1-4 pounds at a depth of 140-240' and the best results are from jigging with a live minnow.

TOPAZ LAKE: Chuck Fields of the Topaz Lake Marina (775-266-3550) checked in and said this week's report is the same as last week's: The fishing is really quiet which is normal for this time of the year. Not a lot of people out anymore. A few fishermen are picking up a few fish, with nightcrawlers from shore.

TWIN LAKES, CALIF. AREA:

Lower Twin Lake: Cary Blue of the Twin Lakes Resort (760-932-7751) reported: The fishing and catching has turned up a notch. Everyone is catching fish on a pretty regular basis.

The fish are running 1-5 to 2.75 pounds.

Thomas Buoyants, Power Bait, nightcrawlers and other lures have all been producing.

The top rainbow was 4-pounds, 12-ounces.

Upper Twin Lake: Annett's Mono Village (760-932-7071) reported a 4-pound rainbow on Salmon eggs, a 3-pound, 7-ounce rainbow on lime twist Power Bait by 11-year-old Dylan Quint of Gardnerville and a 3-pound, 14-ounce brown on a jig.

Robinson Creek: Is producing very well. Michael Rogers, approximately 15 years old, caught a 6-pound, 3-ounce German brown with salmon eggs.

WILDHORSE RESERVOIR NEV: Dennis Dunn of the Wild Horse Resort (775-758-6472) said: "It's starting to cloud up again. We have had a bunch of rainstorm systems move through the area, plus the lake turned over last week. The fishing dropped off but it is back to normal, now.

They are catching a ton of perch from shore on a lead-head jig with a black eye.

One angler caught and released 10 bass (over 15 inches long) with a black rubber worm.

The old, original boat ramp is working perfectly and boat trailers are launching from there. It is made of old military landing mats and it is located directly across the bay from the Indian boat ramp.
