Toys for Joy is the collection campaign for The Salvation Army.

The community is asked to participate to fulfill the needs of families with young children in the community. Donors can walk into any of the participating businesses and see a tree with angel ornaments on them. The angels describe gifts a particular child might like to have for Christmas.

There are several suggestions for gifts on each tag, and it is up to the buyer to be creative and insightful in purchasing the young person's gift.

For example, for a girl 13-17, gift suggestions include winter clothes, a gift certificate, sports equipment, backpack, perfume, make-up and a watch. Special presents called "dream items" may include a bike, roller blades, CD player and a hand-held electronic game.
