Bette C. Watkins, 74, of Carson City died Dec. 26, 2003, at home. She was born April 14, 1929, in Fort Smith, Ark., to Clyde and Katherine Butler Boutwell.

She lived in the Reno, Carson City and Lake Tahoe area since 1951.

Mrs. Watkins worked for the Department of Motor Vehicles for 10 years and was a dealer at Harolds Club in Reno for six years. She was a member of the Harolds Pioneer Club, the Ladies Club at Empire Ranch Golf Course and St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church.

She enjoyed playing bunko, reading, shopping and sewing, and was an accomplished dancer.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth; and brother, Robert Boutwell.

Among her survivors are her sons Joe LaChew of Carson City and Michael Giordano of South Lake Tahoe; sister, Phoebe Holland of Carson City; and four grandchildren.

At her request, no service will be held.

Cremation will be at FitzHenry's Crematory.

FitzHenry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
