Norman 'Dusty' Buechel

Norman "Dusty" Buechel, 74, a Carson City resident for the past 28 years, died Dec. 26, 2003, at Washoe Medical Center. He was born Sept. 6, 1929, in St. Louis to Julius Evan and Barbara Margaret Lambing Buechel.

Before moving to Carson City, he lived in Alta Loma, Calif.

Mr. Buechel was a purchaser for the state of Nevada. He was an avid Harley-Davidson rider and a member of the Northern Nevada Chapter of H.O.G.

He served in the U.S. Navy, U.S. Marines, U.S. Army and Air National Guard.

Among his survivors are his wife of Reno; son, Rick Benz; and numerous sons, daughters and grandchildren.

No service is scheduled.
