Trails plan will be discussed at Genoa meeting

The Genoa Town Board will hear a presentation Tuesday on a draft county trails plans.

Matt Alexander, senior planner for Douglas County Community Development, will discuss the proposed trailhead at the end of Carson Street and plans for new trails along Foothill Road and Genoa Lane.

"He'll be going over the latest version of the trails plan," said Town Manager Paul Williams. "He'll update the board on the plan as it exists today."

In other business, the board will:

-- discuss hiring David John & the Comstock Cowboys to perform at this year's Candy Dance;

-- discuss a proposal to have a "Christmas in the Sierra" concert in the Town Hall in December;

-- discuss amending the approved town events schedule to provide monthly living history events in the town park during summer;

-- set a date for a second budget workshop on Feb. 25 or March 4;

-- take action on the proposal to develop two Web sites, including contracting for high-speed Internet service and acquiring a scanner;

-- review the town's policies and procedures.
