There will be an unusually large keno pot at Capt. Avery's tonight. The first pot will be big enough to build a small man a house. Late on Friday night, Officer Stern arrested a batch of the young tramps who infest Carson. Miss Ella L. Fox, daughter of Assemblyman Fox, was married in Virginia on Monday to Frank D. Layton. The little girls of Carson want to know who won the doll that was on exhibition at the Catholic Church Fair.

100 YEARS AGO

Courier -- Miss Maude Esther Collins, age 16 years, 3 months and 16 days, died at her home in Gardnerville after being sick a few days. She was the only child of Mrs. Dora Allen. She was also a niece of Mrs. Sheriff McCormick of Genoa.

70 YEARS AGO

M. Patrick Mahoney, a driller on one of the diversion tunnels at Boulder Dam, filed suit against the Six Companies for $76,188 damages. He says he was forced to work continuously on the face of the diversion tunnel, where carbon monoxide gas from trucks and machines collected in large quantities. The new Katahdon potato to be tried on the Peckham Ranch has a larger root system.

50 YEARS AGO

Nevada Beach has big 1952 usage, according to Ranger Vic Goodwin, with 15,107 persons. It opened two years ago with 30 units.

20 YEARS AGO

Carson City Beta Sigma Phi Sorority honors its Valentine Queens at a Saturday luncheon. Honored are Karen Ouellette, Jean Rennick, Ginger Legenfeld and Kathleen Storey.

10 YEARS AGO

Memorial services for the Rev. Joseph Pritchard, 74, at Bakersfield. He was involved in the formation of Friends In Service Helping and FOCUS, both of Carson City.
