Obituary: Dr. Donald Eugene Soli

A memorial celebration for Dr. Donald Eugene Soli, 80, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Wildcreek Golf Course on the corner of North McCarran Boulevard and Sullivan Lane in Sparks.

Mr. Soli died Dec. 7, 2002, at his home. He was born Feb. 22, 1922, in River Falls, Wis., to Lester and Alpha Soli.

He attended St. Olaf's College in Northfield, Minn., and the University of Iowa Medical School, where he received a doctorate of medicine in 1947.

He married Patricia Fetzer in Iowa City, Iowa, on July 7, 1946.

Dr. Soli moved his family and private practice to Reno and continued to practice medicine until July 2000, when he suffered a stroke.

He served in the U.S. Army for six years and was a captain in the medical corps.

Among his survivors are his wife, Patricia Fetzer of Incline Village; six children; and seven grandchildren.
