Obituary for Leora "Bea" Hasbrouck

A memorial service for Leora "Bea" Hasbrouck, 89, a Carson City resident for the past 23 years, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Walton's Chapel of the Valley.

Mrs. Hasbrouck died Jan. 15, 2002, in Carson City. She was born Oct. 9, 1913, in Rector, Ark., to John William and Clementine Smith Reed.

She married Harold Hasbrouck. He preceded her in death March 25, 1988, in Carson City.

Before moving to Carson City, she lived in Santa Monica, Calif.

Mrs. Hasbrouck was business office administrator of Santa Monica Hospital in Santa Monica. She was a charter member of the Carson City Natives and Newcomers, a member of the Senior Singers and in the cast of the "Senior Follies."

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, John Kenneth McGhee.

Among her survivors are: daughters Carolyn Short of Carson City and Sandra Pearcy of Reno; grandson David Heckendorf of Culver City, Calif., granddaughter Linda Bennett of Carson City; an additional 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
