Two Carson City men remained in serious condition Thursday following a weekend car wreck on Dump Hill.

The conditions for both Juan Lopez-Torres, 33, and his passenger, Nicolas Salas, 35, were unchanged since they were upgraded from critical Monday.

Nevada Highway Patrol officers said Torres pulled in front of an eastbound truck Sunday to make a left turn onto Highway 50 East.

The truck, driven by a Yerington man, slammed into the driver's-side door.

The two passengers in the truck were injured, even though they were wearing seat belts, Trooper Blair Harkleroad said. Neither Lopez-Torres or Salas were wearing seat belts.

Alcohol may be a factor in the crash, but blood tests of the men involved in the accident are pending, Harkleroad said.
