Obituary: William K. Cole

A graveside service with full military honors will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Fernley for William K. Cole, 59, a Silver Springs resident for 15 years.

Mr. Cole died June 25, 2003, at Carson-Tahoe Hospital.

He was born June 21, 1944, in Harrison, Ark., to Cleo and Vercie Rhynes Cole. Mr. Cole served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam as a helicopter gunner. He received several military awards.

He came to Silver Springs from Vacaville, Calif., and enjoyed gardening, reading and cars.

Mr. Cole was preceded in death by his parents;, brother James and sister Betty Hester.

He is survived by his brother John Dennis of Winters, Calif., and sisters Dorothy Smith of Vacaville and Sarah Smith of Galesberg, Ill.
