Two local racers were winners this past weekend at the sixth annual GoodGuys West Coast Hot Rod Happenin' drag races in Pomona, Calif.
The event featured Top Fuel Front engine dragsters, Fuelers and Gassers.
Dean Bliss of Carson City, driving his black flamed 33 Willys, won the C Gas category. Jim Godec of Carson City, driving his 1933 "Flashback" Willys coupe won the B Gas category.
The two racers are sponsored by Super Sports Motors, Mr. Gasket, Mallory and BME all of Carson City. The two racers also compete regularly at Top Gun Raceway in Fallon.
Crew members for both cars are Lance Godec, John Balzer and Dave Sharp all of Carson City. Other local racers competing this past weekend were Tom Christian, Tommy John and Butch Ransom.
