Merchandise stolen from car in Nugget lot

A car belonging to a Los Angeles couple was burglarized Thursday afternoon in the parking lot of the Carson City Nugget.

Suspects allegedly broke the driver-side window and stole several pieces of jewelry.

The California couple was in town for their sales business and were devastated by the crime.

"This was all of our wealth," the husband said. "We are lost."

But they remain optimistic.

"I have a feeling inside that they will catch him," he said.

Investigators with the Carson City Sheriff's Department said the amount stolen remains undetermined but could turn out to be "a pretty valuable haul."

Reports broadcast over police radio indicated two men driving a gold or brown colored compact car. The men were last seen driving east on Robinson Street.

No weapons were seen.
