An accident on Monday at Round Hill near Bourne's Curve on Highway 50 sent four people to the hospital, some with major injuries.

According to a Nevada Highway Patrol officer, the 12:40 p.m. accident involved an unidentified South Lake Tahoe man, 49, who lost control of his 1991 Mitsubishi after overcorrecting a turn. He slammed into a 2001 Buick driven by an unidentified 55-year-old Albuquerque, N.M., woman. She is in stable condition at Barton Memorial Hospital Monday evening.

The woman's unidentified 19-year-old daughter received major injuries and was flown to Washoe Medical Center in Reno along with the driver of the Mitsubishi, who was listed in critical condition.

A third vehicle, a 1993 Chevy pickup driven by an unidentified Zephyr Cove man, was also struck. The 55-year old driver received moderate injuries and was transported to Barton Memorial Hospital.
