A woman received cuts on her neck from flying glass when two unidentified males fired at least two shots into the car she and three others were in late Saturday night.

The woman was a passenger in a 2000 Honda sedan driven by a man, and carrying another women and a toddler, according to Detective Pete Grimm of the Carson City Sheriff's Department. The car was pulling out of the parking lot of Foothill Gardens Apartments just off East Long Street near Lompa Lane in Carson City at about 11 p.m. when a dark-colored car carrying at least two men pulled up nearby.

Both men got out of the car. Using a handgun, one of the men fired two or three times into the Honda, shattering the windows. Both had shaved heads, according to witnesses, Grimm said.

One woman was in the front seat; the other was in the back with the child.

Due to the sensitivity of the investigation, Grimm said no suspects have been named. He would not divulge the names of the victims in the Honda.

"We recovered a revolver nearby, and right now we're doing tests to determine if that is the weapon," Grimm said. "We're in the heat of this investigation and it's going well."

Anyone with information regarding the case is asked to call Grimm at 887-2020, ext. 1400.
