While I am on the road checking out the wine country, Carsonites can enjoy a day of fine wines and touring beautiful estates at Franktown.

Western Nevada Community College Foundation is hosting its annual fund-raiser at Thunder Canyon. The day will have a relaxed atmosphere as five homeowners open their houses for grand tours. The homes offer magnificent mountain, golf course and lake views. Each reflects a unique look into its owners' lifestyles, special interests and art treasures.

Following the tour, several wine distributors will pour a variety of special wines with hors d' oeuvres on the upper patio of Thunder Canyon Golf Course, over looking Slide Mountain. There is limited space so call early.

The Elks Lodge is presenting its annual Flag Day honoring the American flag and what it stands for. The service will be presented by Boy Scout Troop No. 341. A traditional barbecue of hot dogs and hamburgers will follow.

Karson Kruzers are crusin' for you to join the fun at Fuji Park for the annual "Rung What Cha Brung" classic car show.

Jack Andersen says there are more than 275 automobiles registered. The event includes two nights of street dancing and a downtown cruise. Take the children to check out the cars then enjoy the park's new play equipment and other improvements by the Carson City Recreation Department. To register your classic car or find out more about the Karson Kruzers, call Andersen at 882-0829.
