Obituary: George R. "Bob" Heitz Jr.

A graveside service with military honors for George R. "Bob" Heitz Jr., 77, a Carson City-Reno resident for 28 years, will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday at Lone Mountain Cemetery.

Mr. Heitz died June 17, 2003, in the Veterans Administration Hospital in Reno. He was born Sept. 2, 1925, in Alexandria, Ky., to George R. Sr. and Lillian Berry Heitz.

Mr. Heitz was a plant superintendent for Marquart Missile Corp.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was preceded in death by two brothers; his wife, Dorothy in 1978; and sister Ruth.

Among his survivors are his sons George R. III of Largo, Fla., and John J. of Sylmar, Calif.; stepson, Ronald Pope of Littleton, Colo.; brother James of Lancaster, Calif.; and sister Dorothy Robinson of Cincinnati.

FitzHenry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
