A Yerington woman in Lyon County Jail is accused of driving under the influence and causing a the death of a motorcyclist.

Corren Bishop, 48, is being held on suspicion of drunken driving causing death, following an accident Wednesday evening four miles north of Yerington in which 55-year-old Robert Cassady of Yerington was killed, said Trooper James Farmer Jr. of the Nevada Highway Patrol.

"She was northbound, and he was southbound on U.S. 95. She wanted to turn left onto Penrose Drive, and she cut in front of him," he said. Cassady was thrown from his motorcycle.

Farmer said Cassady died a short time later at Lyon Medical Center as he was being prepared to be taken by Care Flight helicopter to Washoe Medical Center.

Bishop works in some capacity at Lyon Medical Center, although Farmer wasn't sure what her job was, he said. Cassady is retired, he said.

Bishop was arrested after an officer allegedly observed signs of alcohol consumption. She is being held on $21,000 bail.
