A funeral for Glen A. Reese, 63, of Reno will be at 2 p.m. today at Mountain View Mortuary, 425 Stocker Ave., Reno.

Mr. Reese died March 5. He was born March 27, 1939, in Oakland, Calif., and attended Idaho State College.

He was the assistant manager of the Pocatello Railroad Employees Federal Credit Union and was later manager of the Coulee Dam Federal Credit Union and Idaho Credit Union League.

In 1969, he moved to Las Vegas and became managing director then president of the Nevada Credit Union League for nearly 30 years. He was responsible for Nevada's passage of the 1975 Credit Union Act , which was recognized as the most progressive credit union act in the United States at that time.

Reese was appointed by the governor to be the first chairman of the Credit Union Advisory Council. He was instrumental in implementing the Credit Union Act and forming the first credit union charter under the act in October 1975.

He was on the board of directors for the Credit Union National Association, the CUNA Service Group, the ICU Government Securities Program, Inc. and numerous committees. During the 1990s, he was on the board of directors, including a stint as vice chairman of the board, of American Share Insurance Co. in Columbus, Ohio.

In 1999, he moved to Reno, where he continued working on behalf of credit unions, golfed and bowled.

Among his survivors are his son, Randall; daughter, Tracey; and sister, Arlene.
