A memorial service and celebration of life for Keith McGill, 74, a Carson City resident for the past 10 years, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at FitzHenry's Funeral Home.

Mr. McGill died Nov. 16, 2003, at St. Mary's Hospital in Reno. He was born May 24, 1929, in Whittier, Calif., to Lewis and Helen Anderson McGill.

He graduated from Narbonne High School in Lomita, Calif., in 1948.

He married Dawn on Dec. 22, 1949.

Before moving to Carson City, he lived in Bishop, Torrance and Lomita, Calif.

Mr. McGill worked on the Los Angeles waterfront as a longshoreman crane operator for 37 years before his retirement in 1993. He was an avid fisherman and hunter.

He enjoyed his home, flying airplanes, traveling in his RV and golf.

Among his survivors are his wife, son and daughter-in-law Rick and Elaine and daughter and son-in-law Terri and David Miller, all of Carson City; sister, Marcella Carter of Norwalk, Calif.; two grandsons; two granddaughters; one great-granddaughter; and one step-grandson.
