Obituary: Ima Jean Scivally

Ima Jean Scivally, 78, a Carson City resident for the past 16 years, died Oct. 24, 2003, at her home. She was born Nov. 20, 1924, in Elora, Tenn., to John M. and Ima Hampton Russell.

Before moving to Carson City, she lived in Chillicothe, Ill., for 16 years, moving from Fayetteville, Tenn.

Mrs. Scivally was a homemaker. She was an avid butterfly collector. She loved butterflies, walking and hiking and the mountains.

She was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.

Among her survivors are her husband James L. of Carson City; sons and daughters-in-law James H. and Carol Whittle of Lewisburg, Tenn., and William H. Jr. and Myra Whittle of Carson City; brothers Clyde and J.B. Russell, both of Huntland, Tenn., and Gilbert D. Russell of East Peoria, Ill.; sisters Hattie Stewart of Huntland and Claira Straton of Huntsville, Ala.; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

No service is scheduled.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice.

Capitol City Cremation & Burial Society is in charge of arrangements.
