Local team qualifies for NSA World Series

Nevada Fitness of Carson City placed fifth out of 41 teams this past weekend at the National Softball Assocation Western Region Slow Pitch Softball Championships in St. George, Utah.


The local team qualified for the NSA World Series to be held in October in Las Vegas. Teams from Nevada, California, Oregon, Washington and Utah competed in the event. Nevada Fitness was the highest finishing team from Nevada, going 4-2 in the tournament.


Ken Roggensack led the way as he had an outstanding tournament, hitting .809. Other leaders for the local team were Jerrad Kordonowy (.650), Brad Main (.611), Jason Lewis (.611) and Steve Main (.600).


Todd Glanzmann also pitched the entired tournament. He combined with Brad Main at second base and Kordonowy at shortstop to turn three double plays a game.


Rounding out the team were Ed Zinda, Jerry Zaro, Bob Whited, Darrin Ketchum, Howard Cunningham, Greg Lehman and manager Ron Johns.


The team consists mostly of players from Carson City with players also from Dayton and Reno.
