SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- Douglas High graduate Ashley Sulprizio came up big for No. 22 California as it played on even terms with No. 3 Santa Clara on Sunday.
The game went to double overtime and finish in a 0-0 tie. The Golden Bears moved to 1-0-2. Sulprizio, a redshirt sophomore goalie, tied her career high with eight saves, including two in overtime. Overall, the Broncos outshot the Bears 14-5. Each Cal returns home to face Fresno State on Sunday, Sept. 14 at 1 p.m.
