A memorial service for Marilyn Jean Larsen-Hill, 63, a Minden resident for the past four years, will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Walton's Chapel of the Valley in Carson City.

Mrs. Larsen-Hill died April 5, 2004, at home. She was born Feb. 12, 1941, in Sioux City, Iowa, to Martin B. and Myrtis Kirkpatrick Larsen.

She graduated from Leeds High School, attended the Methodist Hospital School of Nursing and graduated from the State University of New York.

Prior to living in Minden she resided in Iowa, New York and California.

She married Keith Hill.

Mrs. Larsen-Hill was in the nursing profession for most of her life and retired from Washoe Medical Center in December.

She enjoyed pursuing new adventures such as antiquing, sewing, cooking, golfing, skiing, traveling, shooting, motorcycling, photography and caring for ferrets.

Among her survivors are her husband of Minden; daughters Michele Hertwig and Melissa Swingle; sons Donald Ward, Douglas Ward, Jeffrey Hill and Timothy Hill; brother, Kent Larsen of Scio, Ore.; mother, Myrtis Larsen of Rogers, Ark.; and seven grandchildren.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
