Adalio G. Pardini

A memorial service for Adalio G. Pardini, 90, will be at 1 p.m. May 1 at the Freitas Rupracht Funeral Home in Yerington with the Rev. Paul McCollum of Holy Family Catholic Church officiating.

Mr. Pardini died April 14, 2004, at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Reno. He was born Jan. 30, 1914, in Yerington, to Alesandro and Sestilia Castellani Pardini. He lived most of his life in Yerington. In his youth, he worked on local farms.

Mr. Pardini was the last known surviving employee of the historical Nevada Copper Belt Railroad, which connected the mines near Yerington with the Southern Pacific Railroad line at Wabuska during the first half of the 20th century. He worked on the Nevada Copper Belt Railroad as conductor and brakeman. He also worked at a cement plant in Gerlach, a lumbermill in Delleker, Calif., and Yerington High School until his retirement.

He was preceded in death by sisters Angela Tarnagni, Sestilia Kiley and Aleandrina Pardini.

Among his survivors are his sister, Mary Rosaschi of Wellington; brother, Angelo Pardini of Pasco, Wash.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.
