Hunter education classes in both Reno and Fallon

Successful completion of a hunter education class is required in the State of Nevada for anyone born after Dec. 31, 1959, who intends to purchase a Nevada hunting license.

There is a $5 fee for attending a hunter education class.

All students must pre-register, obtain course materials and complete a workbook (100%) prior to attending the class.

Hunter education classes in this general area will be offered on these dates and locations:

Wednesday-Thursday, Aug. 25-26 (5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.) in Reno at NDOW headquarters 1100 Valley Road. Call 688-1559.

Sunday, Sept. 12 (8 a.m. to 5 p.m.) in Reno at NDOW headquarters 1100 Valley Road. Call 688-1559.

Wednesday-Thursday, Sept. 14-15 (5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.) in Reno at NDOW headquarters 1100 Valley Road. Call 688-1559.

Saturday, Sept. 18 (Call for times) in Fallon.

All classes are taught by volunteer instructors certified by the Nevada Division of Wildlife (NDOW) or employees of NDOW.

Some of the hunter education subjects to be covered include such things as the safe handling of rifles, pistols and handguns, hunter ethics, conservation, first-aid and wilderness survival.
