Virginia Kable Godwin

Virginia Kable Godwin, 87, a Carson City resident for the past six years, died Aug. 16, 2004, at Carson Convalescent Center. She was born Sept. 1, 1916, in Mount Morris, Ill., to Harvey G. and Pearl Hershey Kable.

Mrs. Godwin was a Lutheran.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde; nephew Phil Kable and niece, Diane Kable Rouse.

Among her survivors are her stepdaughter, Joyce Godwin Fite; stepson, Jesse Clydell Godwin of Los Angeles; nieces Patricia Kable Mullarkey, Joan Kable Beatie, Valerie Kable Harris, Justina Kable Kemner, Judith Kable, GynneSue Kable Nelson and Wendy Kable Joseph.

She was cremated and her ashes sent to Mount Morris. A graveside service will be at a later date.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
