A funeral for Vernell Frank, 70, a lifetime resident of Dresslerville, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Walton's Chapel of the Valley.
Visitation will be from 9-10 a.m. Thursday at Walton's.
Mr. Frank died Dec. 23, 2004, in Gardnerville. He was born April 15, 1934, in Dresslerville to Ramon and Margaretta Frank.
Mr. Frank worked with the search-and-rescue team in Douglas County.
He volunteered in the community, especially with athletics. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with friends and family. He also enjoyed passing on his knowledge of hunting and fishing to his nephews.
Among his survivors are his wife of 41 years, Shirley of Dresslerville; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Burial will be at the Stewart Indian Cemetery.
Walton's Douglas County Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
