New Year's Eve

• Carson Nugget's gala New Year's Eve Party in the main ballroom, 7 p.m.-1 a.m. Features live music by The Motifs and Bill McClain's Mobile Music. Dinner buffet served from 7-9 p.m.; no-host bar, free party hats and favors, champagne and free commemorative champagne flute. Reservations required; tickets $50 per person. Call 882-1626, ext. 221.

• Douglas County swearing-in ceremony at 8:30 a.m. in the old courthouse, followed by reception and organizational meeting.
