Free throw contest winners named

Ten boys and girls from Carson City, ages 10 to 14, were named local champions of the Knights of Columbus Free Throw Championship.

Council 4781 sponsored the local competition at Carson Middle School. Elizabeth Cagle was the 10 year-old girls' champion and Drew Moreland was the winner of the 10 year-old boys' division. In the 11 year-olds' bracket, Lindsay Burroughs was the girls' champion and Scotty Atchian was the boys' champion. Twelve year-old winners in the girls' and boys' divisions were Loretta Cagle and Blake Moreland. The 13 year-old girls' division was won by Brandi Vega and the 13 year-old boys' by Johnny Joyce. 14 year-old champions were Christa Casci in the girls' bracket and David Newton in the boys.
