The disappearance of Bertha Anguiano

- Nov. 5, 2003: Israel "Juan Carlos" Tellez runs out of gas in Fallon. A man helps him and lets him stay at his home for a few days. Tellez tells him he has money coming from Salt Lake.

- Nov. 7, 2003: The money from Salt Lake arrives and the man rents Tellez a room at the Ox Bow Motor Lodge in Fallon.

- Nov. 10, 2003:

7:30 a.m. to 8 a.m.: Bertha Anguiano and her 3-year-old son, Andrew, take her 6-year-old son to school at Empire Elementary School in Carson City.

8 a.m.: Man is seen standing with Anguiano in the parking lot of school.

9:20 a.m.: Andrew is found wandering near the Dayton Smith's with blood on his clothes stating "Juan" dropped him off and his mother is dead.

10 a.m.: Police figure out Andrew is from Carson City.

11 a.m.: Police contact Anguiano's husband, Filiberto, at the couple's video store on Desatoya Drive after he arrived home from his job site near Smith's.

11:15 a.m.: Tellez tries to rent the Fallon motel room for additional nights. The manager denies him and Tellez packs and leaves.

11:30 a.m.: Bertha's car is found unlocked in the parking lot of the elementary school.

- Nov. 21, 2003: Tellez is arrested in Salt Lake City and his 1992 GMC Jimmy is recovered. He denies any knowledge of Anguiano's whereabouts.

- Jan. 6: A Salt Lake judge determines Tellez will be tried on charges of aggravated assault. He remains in custody in the Salt Lake County Jail.

- March 16-17: Tellez goes on trial in Utah District Court on two counts of aggravated assault, possession of a dangerous weapon and carrying a concealed dangerous weapon.
