One of the local chapters of the Sierra Club is offering a 6-8 mile cross country ski trek on Saturday, Feb. 28. It is for members and anyone else interested in the trek.
It will be a trek into Forestdale Valley, east of Kit Carson Pass, Calif.
The outing is for strong beginners, as well as experienced back country skiers.
The first half of the Feb. 28 ski trip is moderately easy into the valley with good, surrounding telemark slopes.
There will be optional stop at Grover's Hot Springs for a soak.
Dogs on leashes are permitted.
