The Dayton High wrestling team won its first ever Lyon County title during a four-way meet in Yerington. Dayton beat Yerington 42-34, Fernley 57-21 and Silver Stage 57-24 for the crown.
Chris Thompson (112), Travis Wade (119), Steven Novello (145), Tim Torres (171) and Robbie Bell (189) all went unbeaten for the Dust Devils. Jeremy Stanfield (160) went 2-1 with his loss coming to Fernley's Corey Ryan, 4-2. Ryan placed third in last year's 3A State Championships.
