Bulldog wrestlers strong in tournament

The Carson Bulldog wrestling team had a strong showing in a tournament hosted by Reed High School.

More than 300 wrestlers participated from Nevada and California. Carson ended up taking home 50 medals at Sunday's tournament with 12 Bulldog wrestlers winning titles and 11 wrestlers placing in second.

Those who placed first were: Ricky McDonald, Micah Chalk, Eric Wilcoxson, William Lee, Bryce Moyle, Matthew Barret, Colby Brown, Kye Catlin, Kyle Sharp, Nolan Shine, Nicholas Lani and Willy McDonald.

Those who placed second were: Mathew McCarthy, Dawson Weld, Brady O'Keefe, Kaleb Wold, Nicolas Garcia, Riley Hutchings, Mick Poole, Todd Banko, Blake Davidson, David Nubel and Nathan James.

Others who placed were: Cole Catlin, fourth; Brandon Davidson, third; Travis Derley, third; Sablan Harting, fourth; Bryce James, third; Logan Jones, fifth; Todd Lani, third; Brandon Maffel, fourth; Garret Nicholson, fourth; Nathanial Poole, third; Ben Ray, fourth; Christian Tercerco, third; Sam Blei, third;

The Bulldogs travel to Douglas on Sunday for the next SWA sanctioned tourney. The public is invited and admission is free.
