A memorial service for William Marion Johnson Sr., 72, a Carson City resident for the past 44 years, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Delta Saloon and Casino in Virginia City.

Mr. Johnson died Jan. 12, 2004, in Carson City. He was born Jan. 6, 1932, in Clayton, N.C., to Larry David and Annie Sears Johnson.

He graduated from high school in North Carolina.

Before moving to Carson City, he lived in Rocky Mountain, N.C.

Mr. Johnson was the casino manager at the Overland Hotel Casino in Reno, the Peppermill in Reno and Harold's Club at Topaz Lake.

Among his survivors are his sons Bill of North Lake Tahoe, Jeff of Sacramento, Calif., and Joel of Sparks; daughter, Luanne Konrath of Reno; sisters Odessa Adams of North Carolina and Claire Ruskin of New York City; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

An inurnment service will be at the Virginia City Cemetery after the memorial service.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
